Liquid-liquid criticality in the dielectric constant and refractive index: A perspective
The critical region in the phase diagram of condensed matter systems such as fluids or fluid mixtures is characterized by the anomalous behaviour of specific thermodynamic properties. Here, we discuss the progress of understanding the behaviour of two intimately related properties, the dielectric constant [Formula: see text] and the refractive index n,

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

A Comparative Analysis of the Determinants and Pricing of Liquidity in Floor and Electronic Trading Systems [PDF]
In recent years many stock exchanges have moved away from floor-based to automated-based trading systems. However, the choice between these alternative trading systems is a major concern for stock exchange regulators and designers, and the impact of ...

Measuring associations between working capital and return on investment
The two conflicting goals of working capital management are profitability and liquidity. This article looks at return on investment as a measure of profitability and some traditional and more recently developed working capital concepts as liquidity ...

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

How does the Introduction of an ETF Market with Liquidity Providers Impact the Liquidity of the Underlying Stocks?. [PDF]
This article examines how the inception of an ETF market impacts several dimensions of the liquidity of the ETF-underlying-index stocks. In contrast with previous research, our evidence is based on an ETF market where liquidity providers (LPs) act as ...

Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Impact of Liquidity on the Futures–Cash Basis: Evidence from the Indian Market [PDF]
The law of one price relies on enforcement by arbitragers who are expected to eliminate price differentials quickly. Arbitragers’ activities are constrained by liquidity of markets.

False Reality Bias in Treasury Management
This study examines the False Reality Bias in treasury management, a cognitive distortion through which small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) infer financial stability from salient bank balances while overlooking pending obligations and cash-flow ...
