Money, interest rates, and exchange rates with endogenously segmented asset markets [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyzes the effects of money injections on interest rates and exchange rates in a model in which agents must pay a Baumol-Tobin style fixed cost to exchange bonds and money.

Bimetallic (NiFe) and Trimetallic (NiFeCr) Nanoalloys from Metal Oxides Using a Microwave Hydrogen Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

Rethinking the implications of monetary policy: How a transactions role for money transforms the predictions of our leading models [PDF]

open access: yes
Over the past several decades, economists have devoted ever-growing effort to developing economic models to help us understand how changes in interest rates brought about by monetary policy actions affect the production and provision of goods and ...

Dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction and microsample injection

open access: yes, 2013
A method was developed for inorganic arsenic speciation analysis of water samples by a microsample injection system coupled with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MIS-ICP-MS) following a validated dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME).

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

Taking the Monetary Implications of a Monetary Model Seriously [PDF]

open access: yes
It has become common practice in applied monetary economics to posit an interest rate rule as a component of the economic environment. Since the general equilibrium setting imposes a money demand relationship, the interest rate rule implies that the ...

Flattening the Recession Curve Comparing Initial Fiscal Responses to the Corona Crisis Across the EU1. BertelsmannStiuftung Policy paper 9 April 2020 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
While the ongoing pandemic affects all European economies, we show that it is likely to cause much more economic damage in some member states than in others. Early fiscal crisis responses by EU governments do not reflect these differences.
