Mitochondrial Transplantation Rejuvenates Aging Heart by Restoring Mitophagy Flux via the HIF‐3α‐BNIP3 Axis

Aging heart shows mitophagy flux congestion and mitochondrial dysfunction. Aberrant activation of the HIF‐3α‐BNIP3 axis induces mitophagy flux congestion in the aging heart. Mitochondrial transplantation rectifies the HIF‐3α‐BNIP3 axis and restores mitophagy flux by elevating ATP production in the aging heart.

The binding of these motifs to LC3/Atg8 proteins at the phagophore membrane is often modulated by post-translational modifications, especially phosphorylation.

Objective Biallelic variants in genes encoding the RNA polymerase III complex (Pol III) cause a spectrum of neurological disorders primarily affecting the central nervous system.
