Abstract The leafminer Liriomyza huidobrensis (Diptera: Agromyzidae) was first reported in Java, Indonesia in 1994. Since then it has invaded the major vegetable-producing regions of Java and Sumatra. Surveys indicate that this pest attacks over 20 species of vegetable, ornamental and weed hosts.

Sampling for Liriomyza huidobrensis (Diptera: Agromyzidae) Larvae and Damage in Celery
Environmental Entomology, 1995A sampling plan to estimate population levels of Liriomyza huidobrensis (Blanchard) larvae and total mining damage was developed for use in celery. Dispersion indices from Taylor's power law were calculated from 1992 data obtained from whole plant samples collected from commercial fields at two times during the cropping season and utilizing one of ...

SummaryThe critical factors required by entomopathogenic nematodes for the control of dipteran leafminers were investigated and compared. The foliar application of Steinernema feltiae and Heterorhabditis sp. (strain UK 211) caused a significant reduction in the numbers of dipteran leafminer larvae.

Biological Studies of Liriomyza huidobrensis (Diptera: Agromyzidae) on Chrysanthemum, Aster, and Pea
Journal of Economic Entomology, 1984Selected biological characteristics of Liriomyza huidobrensis (Blanchard) were determined under constant laboratory conditions, using chrysanthemum, aster, and pea as host plants. Larval development time was shorter on peas than on chrysanthemum or aster; no differences were found when durations of the egg or pupal stages or adult longevity were ...

The pea leafminer, Liriomyza huidobrensis, is one of the most important economic insect pests around the world. Its population fluctuates greatly with seasonal change in China, and temperature was thought to be one of the important reasons. In attempt to further explore the impact of disadvantageous temperature on L. huidobrensis, 1-day-old adults were
