Chrysanthemum MAF2 regulates flowering by repressing gibberellin biosynthesis in response to low temperature

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 112, Issue 5, Page 1159-1175, December 2022., 2022
SUMMARY Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium) is well known as a photoperiod‐sensitive flowering plant. However, it has also evolved into a temperature‐sensitive ecotype. Low temperature can promote the floral transition of the temperature‐sensitive ecotype, but little is known about the underlying molecular mechanisms.

A whiff of the future: functions of phenylalanine‐derived aroma compounds and advances in their industrial production

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 20, Issue 9, Page 1651-1669, September 2022., 2022
Summary Plants produce myriad aroma compounds—odorous molecules that are key factors in countless aspects of the plant's life cycle, including pollinator attraction and communication within and between plants. For humans, aroma compounds convey accurate information on food type, and are vital for assessing the environment.

Tropical montane forest in South Asia: Composition, structure, and dieback in relation to soils and topography

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2022., 2022
Abstract We evaluated the composition, structure, and dieback of a montane forest in relation to soils and physiography of an important biogeographic region that has been sparsely studied. Our objectives were to (1) describe the forest composition and structure; (2) assess the current extent of dieback; and (3) relate tree composition, structure, and ...

Effect of Endophytic Trichoderma sp. Strains on the Agronomic Characteristics of Ecotypes of Theobroma cacao L. under Nursery Conditions in Peru

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agronomy, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Peru is one of the main producers of fine aroma native cacao, expanding its areas considerably in recent years, which makes it necessary to seek adequate management alternatives to obtain advantageous yields. The present work had the objective of testing the influence of Trichoderma sp. endophytic strains on the agronomic characteristics of ecotypes of

Pest categorisation of Retithrips syriacus

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 19, Issue 11, November 2021., 2021
Abstract The EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of the black vine thrips, Retithrips syriacus (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), for the EU territory. This species is not included in EU Commission Implementing Regulation 2019/2072. This polyphagous species feeds, among others, on apple, avocado, banana, cotton, grapevine, persimmon ...

Lisianthus Leaf Necrosis: A New Disease of Lisianthus Caused by Iris yellow spot virus [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2000
Unusual viral symptoms were seen on lisianthus (Eustoma russellianum) grown in the Besor area in Israel. Symptoms included necrotic spots and rings on leaves and systemic necrosis. Preliminary analyses suggested that the disease was caused by a tospovirus.
