Model Search With TETRAD II and LISREL
Sociological Methods & Research, 1990This article is a comment on the paper by Spirtes, Scheines, and Glymour. The problem of equivalent models is discussed. The conclusion of the authors that the automatic model modification procedure in LISREL performs poorly may be due to the fact that all equivalent models are not counted as correct models.

The purpose of this chapter is to introduce you to the general format of the LISREL program. Expanded comments regarding various aspects of the input and output will be addressed in subsequent chapters that focus on specific CFA model applications.

Remembering the News: A LISREL Model
European Journal of Communication, 1990The aim of this study is to describe and explain with the aid of a LISREL model the process of news reconstruction by television viewers. Proceeding from theoretical considerations and empirical results of news research, eighteen hypotheses are formulated concerning the reconstruction of news by recipients who saw the main German television news ...

Sewall Wright’s path coefficients were conceived as dimensionless binary indicators of whether a genetic trait was passed to an offspring, or not. Correlations in Wright’s context were almost overkill, though their magnitude might have been considered to suggest varying degrees of confidence in heritability of a trait.

In chapter 1 the advantages of the use of spatio-temporal data for impact analysis of economic policy have been pointed out. The analysis of spatio-temporal data, however, poses specific problems which will be described in this chapter. These problems stem from the fact that spatiotemporal data constists of a time series of cross-sectional observations

Testing MANOVA Designs with LISREL
Sociological Methods & Research, 1988It is possible to test for the equality of means between independent groups with LISREL, either specifying a model with dummy variables or a model with several groups. The specification of these models is not only simple, but testing means with the second model is also less restrictive than the conventional MANOVA test procedures. This is demonstrated

Fitting genetic models with LISREL: Hypothesis testing
Behavior Genetics, 1989A brief introduction to the mathematical theory involved in model fitting is provided. The properties of maximum-likelihood estimates are described, and their advantages in fitting structural models are given. Identification of models is considered. Standard errors of parameter estimates are compared with the use of likelihood-ratio (L-R) statistics ...
