Ultrafast Photocatalytic Wettability Switching in Substrate‐Interface Tailored Titanium Dioxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates ultrafast photocatalytic wettability switching in TiO2 thin films by tailoring substrate doping and interface oxides. Enhanced switching rates and hemiwicking effects are achieved through optimized material stacks and nanostructuring.

Provincializing the Western literary canon

open access: yes, 2023
This paper argues that the novel After Story, published in 2021 by Eualeyai and Kamillaroi writer Larissa Behrendt, practices intellectual sovereignty as a form of what Dipesh Chakrabarty calls "anti-colonial gratitude" (Provincializing Europe, p. 255).

Overcoming Printing and Interfacial Challenges in Liquid Metal Direct Writing for Integrated Stretchable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Liquid metal direct writing is advanced from a technological and fundamental point. Utilizing a kinematic bed, printing on large surfaces with irregularities is enabled. Furthermore, a pressure‐driven flow during printing is discovered that affects the thickness of traces.

Preservation of Extracellular Vesicle Integrity and Cargo Using Spiral Microfluidic Chip‐Based Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A spiral microfluidic chip is compared with ultrafiltration for the separation of extracellular vesicles (EVs). The method preserves miRNA cargo and membrane integrity more effectively, resulting in intact vesicle morphology and consistent surface biomarker expression.

TRADITION REVISITED: T. S. ELIOT AND THE JOHN DONNE AFFAIR

open access: yesCadernos de Letras da UFF, 2016
From the notion of “dissociation of sensibility,” exposed by T. S. Eliot in his essay “The Metaphysical Poets,” published in 1921, this paper discusses how the poet shifts the positions occupied by John Milton and John Donne in the English literary canon

Midbrain PAG Astrocytes Modulate Mouse Defensive and Panic‐Like Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocytes in the midbrain periaqueductal gray (PAG) dynamically encode threat intensity and shape defensive action selection in mice. Real‐time Ca2+ imaging reveals robust astrocytic activation during predator odor and CO2 exposure. Aberrant astrocytic Ca2+ overactivation disrupts goal‐directed escape, biases behavior toward freezing, and induces ...

Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing of Human Lung Tissues Reveals Metallothionein‐Positive T Cells as a Novel Potential Marker of Susceptibility to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using single‐cell RNA sequencing of lung samples and flow cytometry of peripheral blood, we identified a novel T cell subset with high metallothionein (MT) expression. These MT‐high T cells suppress CD8+ T cell cytotoxicity and are progressively depleted from healthy controls to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients, positioning them as

Lactylation‐Driven YTHDC1 Alleviates MASLD by Suppressing PTPN22‐Mediated Dephosphorylation of NLRP3

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In MASLD, YTHDC1 undergoes increased lactylation and ubiquitination, reducing its expression. AARS1 mediates lactylation at lysine 565, while disrupted binding to LDHA further promotes lactylation, suppressing YTHDC1. This downregulation enhances PTPN22 mRNA stability, leading to NLRP3 dephosphorylation and activation, which exacerbates inflammation ...
