What methods do reviews of normative ethics literature use for search, selection, analysis, and synthesis? In-depth results from a systematic review of reviews

open access: yesSystematic Reviews, 2017
Background (Semi-)systematic approaches to finding, analysing, and synthesising ethics literature on medical topics are still in their infancy. However, our recent systematic review showed that the rate of publication of such (semi-)systematic reviews ...

The solution supramolecular structure of α2 → 8 polysialic acid suggests a structural cause for its low immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Reviews – a journey on innovation from the past into the future

open access: yesJournal of Innovation Management, 2019
Reviews of literature including systematic meta-analysis are invaluable to advance science and guide directions for future research. The premise for conducting reviews is well established (Dickersin & Berlin, 1992; Glass, 1976).

Auctions and Peer Prediction for Academic Peer Review [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Peer reviewed publications are considered the gold standard in certifying and disseminating ideas that a research community considers valuable. However, we identify two major drawbacks of the current system: (1) the overwhelming demand for reviewers due to a large volume of submissions, and (2) the lack of incentives for reviewers to participate and ...

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.

Systematization of Vulnerability Discovery Knowledge: Review Protocol [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this report, we describe the review protocol that will guide the systematic review of the literature in metrics-based discovery of vulnerabilities. The protocol have been developed in adherence with the guidelines for performing Systematic Literature Reviews in Software Engineering prescribed by Kitchenham and Charters.

The cytoskeletal control of B cell receptor and integrin signaling in normal B cells and chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

What makes an informative and publication-worthy scientometric analysis of literature: A guide for authors, reviewers and editors

open access: yesTransportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives, 2023
In light of the proliferation of scientometric/bibliometric software and its accessibility to a wide array of researchers, we have witnessed a substantial increase in literature analyses founded in these methods across diverse scientific domains.

Coproducción: Una revisión de la literatura

open access: yesWPOM : Working Papers on Operations Management, 2011
El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar la literatura existente en el entorno de la coproducción. De acuerdo con Deuermeyer y Pierskalla (1978), es posible afirmar que existe coproducción cuando un proceso productivo da como resultado más de un ...
