Structures of lithium-zinc compounds at high pressures [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2018
Intermetallic lithium compounds have found a wide range of applications owing to their light mass and desirable electronic and mechanical properties. Here, by compressing pure lithium and zinc mixtures in a diamond-anvil cell, we observe a direct reaction forming the stoichiometric compound LiZn, at pressures below 1 GPa.

High‐Resolution and Real‐Time In Situ Generation of Cellular Spheroids by Laser‐Assisted Bioprinting for Guided Microvascularization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Micro‐injection laser‐assisted bioprinting enables ultrafast and precise patterning of small endothelial cell spheroids by injecting a highly concentrated single‐cell suspension into GelMA/ColMA hydrogels. In co‐culture with fibroblasts, controlled pre‐vasculogenic network formation is obtained at microscale resolution.

Actuating and Sensing Composites of Liquid Crystal Elastomers and Poly(ionic liquid)s

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic conductive, mechanically tough, flexible, and stretchable filaments of a composite material comprising a liquid crystal elastomer and a poly(ionic liquid) are produced through 3D printing, which exhibit large actuation strain under stimulation and electrical resistance variation in response to deformation or environmental condition changes. Their

Metalation Studies on Titanocene Dithiolates

open access: yesInorganics, 2018
Titanocene bis-arylthiolates [(C5H4X)(C5H4Y)Ti(SC6H4R)2] (X,Y = H, Cl; R = H, Me) can be prepared from the corresponding titanocene dichlorides by reacting with the thiols in the presence of DABCO as a base.
