Comparison of cytomorphometry and early cell response of human gingival fibroblast (HGFs) between zirconium and new zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate ceramics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
New zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate ceramics (ZLS) could be a viable alternative to zirconium (Y-TZP) in the manufacture of implantological abutments—especially in aesthetic cases—due to its good mechanical, optical, and biocompatibility properties.

In Vitro Assessment of the Fracture Resistance of Different Prosthodontic Materials for Fixed Dental Prostheses

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Background: Fixed dental prostheses (FDPs) are commonly used in prosthodontics to restore missing teeth and improve oral function and esthetics. The selection of prosthodontic materials significantly impacts the fracture resistance of FDPs, thus ...

Equilibrium and Nonequilibrium Viscosity of PbSiO3 Glass: Viscous Flow and Structural Relaxation

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Viscosity measurements above ∼1012 Pa·s are intrinsically time dependent, and thus equilibrium values can only be defined after structural relaxation is completed. This work investigates the evolution of nonequilibrium viscosity in PbSiO3 glass below the glass transition region and its approach to equilibrium viscosity during structural ...

Custom fabrication of reinforced lithium disilicate ceramic ingot

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dentistry, 2016
A method of formulating a reinforcement lithium disilicate ceramic ingot was proposed. The ceramic ingot was broken manually with a mallet to finer particles. The sectioned ingot is ball milled along with 10% of nano zirconia by weight to obtain the desired powder.
