Fracture toughness of two lithium disilicate dental glass ceramics
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2016IPS e.max CAD and IPS e.max Press (Ivoclar Vivadent AG) are lithium disilicate glass ceramics marketed as interchangeable materials indicated for the same clinical uses. However, different crystal sizes of lithium disilicate are formed during the processing of each of these materials, a factor that could lead to significantly different mechanical ...

Radiation-Induced Centers in Lithium Disilicate Glass
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1978Radiation-induced paramagnetic, optical and thermoluminescent centers were correlated for X-irradiated lithium disilicate glass. The main ESR signal at g=2.01 is the superposition of two lines, and is usually assigned to two optical centers in the visible range, but the present work rejected one-to-one correspondence between them.

Objective: CAD/CAM technology allows fabrication of thin lithium disilicate (LD) veneers to a LD crown substructure in place of using traditional feldspathic porcelain (FP) which has inferior mechanical properties. This project investigated the effect of different LD veneer applications to LD substructure on the biaxial flexural fatigue of LD veneer ...

Multiple diastema closure with lithium disilicate veneers
Sri Ramachandra Journal of Health SciencesMultiple diastema is one of the most prevalent esthetic issues that significantly reduces the patient’s confidence. This condition still poses a challenge for a clinician to restore these gaps and to provide an esthetic smile which is desired by the patient.

Er:YAG laser debonding of zirconia and lithium disilicate restorations
The Journal of Prosthetic DentistryYttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (Y-TZP) restorations of different formulations are being used increasingly in monolithic form for a range of clinical applications. Using rotary instruments to remove such restorations for any purpose is challenging, but they can be removed conservatively with erbium lasers.
