Recent results on lithium ion conductors

Electrochimica Acta, 1977
Conductivity data for several new lithium ion conductors are presented. Li3N has a very open structure with intersecting tunnels in 2 dimensions. High ionic conductivity has been found at relatively low temperatures. Data indicate that the conductivity can be improved by suitable doping, as well as stoichiometric control.

New Lithium Ion Conductors

1976
Conductivity data for several new lithium conductors are presented. The materials discussed fall into three groups. The first class are solid solutions of lithium orthosilicate, Li4SiO4, and lithium phosphate, Li3PO4. The unit cell of Li4SiO4 contains two SiO4 −4 tetrahedra linked by 8 lithium ions, which are distributed over 18 possible sites ...

Mixed polyether lithium-ion conductors

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1984
Abstract Polymeric membranes based on high molecular weight poly(ethylene oxide) doped with lithium salts have proved to be useful as solid electrolytes in lithium cells operating around 100 °C. At lower temperatures, the conductivity is impaired by poorly conducting crystalline phases as well as by reduced lithiumion concentration and mobility in ...

Interfacial transport in lithium-ion conductors

Chinese Physics B, 2016
Physical models of ion diffusion at different interfaces are reviewed. The use of impedance spectroscopy (IS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) techniques are also discussed. The diffusion of ions is fundamental to the operation of lithium-ion batteries, taking place not only within the grains but also across

Lithium ion conductors and proton conductors: Effects of plasticizers and hydration

Electrochimica Acta, 1995
Abstract Lithium ion conductors and proton conductors were developed in support of a large-area electrochromic transparency effort with the goal of identifying a polymer electrolyte that provides high ionic conductivity with good electrochemical and thermal stability.

Lithium ion conductors based on LiTi2P3O12 compound

Solid State Ionics, 1988
Abstract The experimental results of Li1 + xTi2 − xCrxP3O12 system are given and the main factors showing influence on the lithium ion conductivity are discussed from the comparison of the Li1 + xTi2 − xMxP3O12 systems, where M = In, Cr, Ga and 0.5 Mg.

Effect of Attrition Milling on Lithium-Ion Conductors

Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 2018
Lithium lanthanum titanate Li0.33La0.56TiO3 with a perovskite structure and Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 with a NASICON structure are promising solid lithium-ion conductors. Attrition milling is carried out to alter the particle size and a solid-state reaction method is used to prepare the pellets. The mean volume of Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 and Li0.33La0.56TiO3

Crystal structure of the lithium ion conductor, Li3.4Ga0.2SiO4

Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 1990
Abstract The crystal structure of Li 3.4 Ga 0.2 SiO 4 has been determined by Rietveld refinement of time-of-flight neutron HRPD data. A total of 67 position, thermal, occupancy, and instrument parameters were refined to a final R wp = 5.24%, R ex = 4.20%. The structure is related to that of monoclinic, disordered Li 4 SiO 4 .

Preparation and characterization of some lithium – Ion conductors

Solid State Ionics, 2017
Abstract Zirconate and phosphate based lithium ion conductors namely, Li2ZrO3, Li2-4xZr1+x(PO4)2 (x = 0, 0.125, 0.25, 0.35, 0.45) were prepared and characterized with powder X-ray diffraction and electrical conductivity. Li2ZrO3 exhibited the lowest conductivity and in phosphates, it increased initially with increase in lithium concentration and then

Electrochemomechanics in Doped Garnet Lithium-Ion Conductors

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2018
Solid electrolytes based on Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) garnet may enable lithium-metal electrodes. The negatively charged crystal sublattices form channels that facilitate cation transport and produce room-temperature ionic conductivity of 0.4 mS/cm [1].
