Thermal evolution of the North Atlantic lithosphere: New constraints from magnetic anomaly inversion with a fractal magnetization model [PDF]
Using recently published global magnetic models, we present the first independent constraint on North Atlantic geothermal state and mantle dynamics from magnetic anomaly inversion with a fractal magnetization model. Two theoretical models of radial amplitude spectrum of magnetic anomalies are found almost identical, and both are applicable to detecting

Abstract We present a decadal‐scale paleomagnetic analysis of a stalagmite collected from Shuixi Cave, southwest China, spanning 89−123 ka. Our findings include: (a) Magnetite is the dominant magnetic mineral, and paleomagnetic directions can be obtained via demagnetization; (b) Magnetic scanning at 0.1‐mm resolution captures key magnetic features ...

Kinematics of the South Atlantic rift [PDF]
The South Atlantic rift basin evolved as branch of a large Jurassic-Cretaceous intraplate rift zone between the African and South American plates during the final breakup of western Gondwana.

Improving the geological interpretation of magnetic and gravity satellite anomalies [PDF]
Current limitations in the quantitative interpretation of satellite-elevation geopotential field data and magnetic anomaly data were investigated along with techniques to overcome them.

The CUG_CLMFM3D series comprises high-resolution three-dimensional lithospheric magnetic field models for China and its surroundings. The first version, CUG_CLMFM3Dv1, is a spherical cap harmonic model integrating the WDMAMv2 (World Digital Magnetic ...

Abstract Alaska's tectonic complexity makes it ideal for probing upper mantle deformation. We present a 3D shear‐wave anisotropy model obtained by inverting 7,985 SKS splitting intensity measurements from 261 broadband stations using 941 events from 2000 to 2023.

Brunhes Paleomagnetic Directions and Paleointensities From Northern Hainan Island
Abstract Paleomagnetic studies typically assume that the long‐term, time‐averaged geomagnetic field behaves as a geocentric axial dipole (GAD). While paleodirectional data over the past five million years generally agree with GAD predictions, mid‐to‐low latitude paleointensity records fail to show GAD, with high values from Hawaii.

Morphology and tectonics of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, 7°–12°S
We present swath bathymetric, gravity, and magnetic data from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge between the Ascension and the Bode Verde fracture zones, where significant ridge–hot spot interaction has been inferred.

Geophysical characterisation of the ocean–continent transition at magma-poor rifted margins [PDF]
Geophysical characterisation of the ocean-continent transition (OCT) at magma-poor riftedmargins has focused primarily on the determination of P wave velocities using wide-angleseismic techniques. Such experiments have shown that the OCT is heterogeneous,

The Age and Composition of the Voyager Seamounts: Evidence for a Long‐Lived Marquesas Mantle Source
Abstract We present new observations on the dynamics and locations of deep mantle reservoirs derived from the ages and compositions of Voyager Seamount Chain lava flows. The previously unexplored Voyager Seamount Chain trends NW–SE between the Mid‐Pacific Mountains and the Northwestern Hawaiian Ridge.
