Constraining the geotherm beneath the British Isles from Bayesian inversion of Curie depth: integrated modelling of magnetic, geothermal, and seismic data [PDF]
Curie depth offers a valuable constraint on the thermal structure of the lithosphere, based on its interpretation as the depth to 580 ∘C, but current methods underestimate the range of uncertainty. We formulate the estimation of Curie depth within

Kinematics of the South Atlantic rift [PDF]
The South Atlantic rift basin evolved as branch of a large Jurassic-Cretaceous intraplate rift zone between the African and South American plates during the final breakup of western Gondwana.

The CHAMP satellite continues to provide highly accurate magnetic field measurements from decreasing orbital altitudes (<350 km) at solar minimum conditions. Using the latest 4 years (2004–2007) of readings from the CHAMP fluxgate magnetometer, including an improved scalar data product, we have estimated the lithospheric magnetic field to spherical ...

Abstract We present a decadal‐scale paleomagnetic analysis of a stalagmite collected from Shuixi Cave, southwest China, spanning 89−123 ka. Our findings include: (a) Magnetite is the dominant magnetic mineral, and paleomagnetic directions can be obtained via demagnetization; (b) Magnetic scanning at 0.1‐mm resolution captures key magnetic features ...

Recent magnetic satellite missions facilitate new birth of large-scale geomagnetic field models and their applications to tectonics. Here, we directly compare the global geomagnetic field models NGDC-720 with the tectonics and seismicity in Mainland ...

A novel weighting method for satellite magnetic data and a new global magnetic field model [PDF]
A new data weighting scheme is introduced for satellite geomagnetic survey data. Data weights for individual satellite samples at 20-s spacing are derived from two ‘noise’ (or unmodelled signal) estimators for the sample.

Abstract Alaska's tectonic complexity makes it ideal for probing upper mantle deformation. We present a 3D shear‐wave anisotropy model obtained by inverting 7,985 SKS splitting intensity measurements from 261 broadband stations using 941 events from 2000 to 2023.

A multisource geomagnetic field model incorporating ocean circulation-induced magnetic field
The movement of global ocean circulation in the Earth’s main magnetic field generates a measurable induced magnetic field (about 2 nT at geomagnetic satellite altitudes).

Brunhes Paleomagnetic Directions and Paleointensities From Northern Hainan Island
Abstract Paleomagnetic studies typically assume that the long‐term, time‐averaged geomagnetic field behaves as a geocentric axial dipole (GAD). While paleodirectional data over the past five million years generally agree with GAD predictions, mid‐to‐low latitude paleointensity records fail to show GAD, with high values from Hawaii.

The global lithospheric field modeling based on MSS-1 and other satellites’ gradient data
We combine gradient data from the Macau Science Satellite-1 (MSS-1), CHAllenging Minisatellite Payload (CHAMP), Swarm-A, and Swarm-C satellites to develop a 110-degree lithospheric magnetic field model. We then comprehensively evaluate the performance of
