Women in space: A review of known physiological adaptations and health perspectives

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Exposure to the spaceflight environment causes adaptations in most human physiological systems, many of which are thought to affect women differently from men. Since only 11.5% of astronauts worldwide have been female, these issues are largely understudied.

Effect of FGFR alteration on prognosis in 1963 urothelial carcinoma patients with immune checkpoint inhibitors: Implying combination of FGFR inhibitor and immunotherapy for FGFR-altered urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesPharmacological Research
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are essential for urothelial carcinoma (UC) treatment. Fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) alterations, as common oncogenic drivers in UC, have been reported to drive T cell depletion of UC immune microenvironment

Comparison effectiveness of topical analgesics with and without Entonox for esophagogastroduodenoscopy: A randomized controlled trial

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
Abstract Objectives Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is vital for diagnosing and treating upper gastrointestinal symptoms, but patient discomfort and anxiety can affect procedural outcomes. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of topical analgesics with and without Entonox during EGD in terms of procedural success, patient tolerance, and ...

Feasibility of Novel Slim Peroral Cholangiopancreatoscopy for the Diagnosis of Pancreatobiliary Disease

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the clinical outcomes of peroral cholangiopancreatoscopy (POCPS) using the 9‐Fr eyeMAX for the diagnosis of pancreatobiliary diseases. Methods This retrospective study enrolled 43 patients who underwent POCPS using the 9‐Fr eyeMAX for diagnostic procedures at two tertiary referral centers between May 2023 and November ...

Immune-related adverse events with renal colic as the main manifestation: a case report of sintilimab-induced ureteritis/cystitis treated by ureteral stent and review of the literature

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized the treatment of systemic cancer therapy. During disinhibiting the antitumor responses of immune system, ICIs may also cause unique immune-related adverse events (irAEs) which could affect any organ.

Prevention of Cholangitis by Spontaneously Dislodging Biliary Stent After an Endoscopic Procedure in Patients With Asymptomatic Bile Duct Stones

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of spontaneously dislodging biliary stent (SDBS) placement in preventing acute cholangitis after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in patients with asymptomatic bile duct stones. Methods This retrospective, single‐center study included 63 patients (mean age, 73 ± 11 years; 43 men) who

Glucose metabolism and production of incretins in patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus after Biliopancreatic bypass surgery in the modification of Hess-Marceau the early stages of postoperative monitoring

open access: yesОжирение и метаболизм, 2015
Introduction: a significant improvement was shown in metabolic control at the early stages after BPD, which was associated with GLP-1 and was regardless of weight loss.Aim: to study the secretion of GLP-1, GIP, insulin and glucagon and their relationship

Active Gallbladder Lavage Using a Double‐pigtail Plastic Stent Delivery System During Endoscopic Ultrasound‐guided Gallbladder Drainage (With Video)

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
Endoscopic ultrasound‐guided gallbladder drainage using a double‐pigtail plastic stent (DPPS) harbors the risk of bile leakage and pneumoperitoneum through the anastomosis site. When the inner sheath of the DPPS system is retracted halfway back into the stent, multiple side holes emerge on the stent end, which accelerates the active gallbladder lavage.

Pancreatitis Following Biliary Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography for Common Bile Duct Stones in Japan: A Multicenter Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Post‐endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) pancreatitis (PEP) is an adverse event of ERCP‐related procedures. The present study aimed to evaluate the incidence of PEP in patients with an intact papilla who underwent ERCP for common bile duct stones and identify risk factors and preventive measures for PEP.
