Temperatures inside little penguin Eudyptula minor artificial nest habitats exceed upper thermal limits in a range edge population

open access: yesJournal of Avian Biology
Rising global temperatures will have profound impacts on species and ecosystem functioning. Species existing near their thermal thresholds will be particularly vulnerable to these changes, and those species that rely on, or preferentially use, artificial

Analysis of recovery-recapture data for little penguins

open access: yes, 2007
This thesis analyses yearly mark-recapture-recovery information collected over a 36- year period, from 1968 to 2003, for 23 686 flipper-banded Little Penguins Eudyptula minor of Phillip Island, in south-eastern Australia. Such a long-term data set is extremely rare for any species.

Individual Diving Strategies in the Little Penguin

Waterbirds, 2003
Data on the diving activity of the Little Penguin (Eudyptula minor) as recorded by data loggers are few. We monitored the foraging parameters of free-ranging Little Penguins, breeding at Penguin Island, Western Australia, using a small, hydrodynamically shaped time-depth recorder.
