Littorinid fauna of Xiamen, China (Gastropoda, Littorinimorpha)

open access: yes
Abstract: Littorinidae exhibits remarkable diversity in intertidal and subtidal zones worldwide, with many species closely associated with mangrove ecosystems. In recent years, the taxonomy of littorinids in the western Pacific has undergone substantial revisions through integrative studies of morphology, molecular phylogenetics, and ecological ...

The genome sequence of the common periwinkle, Littorina littorea (Linnaeus, 1758) (Littorinimorpha: Littorinidae)

open access: yesWellcome Open Research
We present a genome assembly from an individual Littorina littorea (common periwinkle; Mollusca; Gastropoda; Littorinimorpha; Littorinidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 849.61 megabases and 847.12 megabases.

A new species of the family Bithyniidae (Gastropoda: Littorinimorpha) from Russia, with re-marks on some genera of this family

open access: yesRuthenica, Russian Malacological Journal
A new species of the bythiniid snails, Opisthorchophorus confusus Andreeva sp. nov., is described based on molecular and morphological data. A COI phylogeny inferred on the material of newly obtained sequences and those accessible through the GenBank has releaved the species distinctness of O. confusus sp. nov.

Colonisation History of Freshwater Snails Across the Atlantic and Mediterranean Islands: Insights From Mercuria (Littorinimorpha, Hydrobiidae)

open access: yesZoologica Scripta
ABSTRACT Islands harbour unique biodiversity, and depending on their geological origin, they have fundamentally different colonisation histories: continental islands may contain relict faunas shaped by vicariance and sporadic gene flow, whereas oceanic islands must have been colonised across open seas, often ...
