Evaluation of Genetics in the Association Between Cardiorespiratory Fitness and Health

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 36, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT We evaluated how much cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF)‐related genetics contribute to the risk of common noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and mortality, and whether individuals with different levels of CRF and genetic predispositions differ in health characteristics.

Connecting the Kontsevich-Witten and Hodge tau-functions by the $\hat{GL(\infty)}$ operators

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we present an explicit formula that connects the Kontsevich-Witten tau-function and the Hodge tau-function by differential operators belonging to the $\hat{GL(\infty)}$ group.

Asperity‐Driven Cascading Rupture of a Mw 1.6 Induced Microearthquake

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Abstract Studies of small earthquake (M < 2) rupture processes traditionally rely on simplified models that assume symmetric slip or point sources. Using an exceptionally dense seismic network and empirical Green's function (EGF) analysis, we investigate the complex rupture of a Mw 1.6 microearthquake induced by hydraulic fracturing.

Modulating Local Electronic Structure via Cluster Engineering on Cobalt Phosphide for Efficient Water/Seawater Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 23, 23 April 2026.
The heterostructure benefits from the high dispersion of FeOx nanoclusters on the porous CoxP substrate, while the interfacial bonds Fe‐O‐Co enhance charge transport and redistribution, resulting in excellent oxygen evolution reaction performance and strong potential for practical applications.

Patient‐Derived 3D‐Bioprinted Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma Models Recapitulate Tumor Autologous Traits and Predict Personalized Adjuvant Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 22, 17 April 2026.
Leveraging 3D bioprinting, this study establishes patient‐derived in vitro models of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. These models faithfully recapitulate the histopathology, molecular profiles, and genomic characteristics of the original patient tumors.

Projected Impacts of Climate Change on Drought Patterns Over East Africa

open access: yesEarth's Future, 2020
Investigation of the pressing impacts of climate change on drought is vital for sustainable societal and ecosystem functioning. The magnitude of how much the drought will change and the way how droughts would affect society and the environment are ...

Quantum traces for representations of surface groups in SL_2

open access: yes, 2010
We consider two different quantizations of the character variety consisting of all representations of surface groups in SL_2. One is the skein algebra considered by Przytycki-Sikora and Turaev.

Differential Craton Destruction Controlled by Fossil Structures in the Central North China Craton

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 5, 16 March 2026.
Abstract Craton evolution plays a fundamental role in stabilizing the continental lithosphere and the long‐term evolution of Earth's surface environment. The Shanxi Rift Zone (SRZ) within the North China Craton marks an ongoing craton destruction. Detailed lithospheric structure is essential to explain craton destruction.

Topology Optimization of Interactive Visual Communication Networks Based on the Non-Line-of-Sight Congestion Control Algorithm

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
In this paper, an in-depth study of interactive visual communication of network topology through non-line-of-sight congestion control algorithms is conducted to address the real-time routing problem of adapting to dynamic topologies, and a delay ...
