Cancer cell‐intrinsic type 1 interferon: production, signaling, and outcomes within sex‐biased, female malignancies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cell‐autonomous roles of interferon type 1 vary based on duration and intensity. While acute, robust signaling results in cancer cell cytotoxic effects, sustained, low‐level signaling is associated with tumor‐promoting effects. This review summarizes current research of IFN‐1 in cancer and within the clinical setting, with an emphasis on female ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Machine Learning-Based Live Weight Estimation for Hanwoo Cow [PDF]

open access: yesSustainability, 2022
Live weight monitoring is an important step in Hanwoo (Korean cow) livestock farming. Direct and indirect methods are two available approaches for measuring live weight of cows in husbandry.

Effect of live-weight and live-weight change on the lambing performance of ewes

The Journal of Agricultural Science, 1962
A flock of 320 Border-Leicester × Merino ewes was used to study the effects of pre-flushing and flushing treatments on subsequent lambing performances during the years 1958, 1959 and 1960. The flock was kept on non-irrigated perennial pastures in southern Victoria. In 1958 groups of ewes that lost a mean of 17, 5 and 0 lb. during the 4 weeks immediately

Birth weight in live births and stillbirths

Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2016
ABSTRACTObjectiveTo establish a normal range of birth weights for gestational age at delivery and to compare the proportion of live births and stillbirths that are classified as small‐for‐gestational age (SGA) according to our normal range vs that of the INTERGROWTH‐21st standard.MethodsThe study population comprised 113 019 live births and 437 (0.4 ...
