Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

In-situ syntheses of graft copolymers by metal-free strategies: combination of photoATRP and ROP
A completely metal-free and environmentally friendly strategy is demonstrated for the preparation of graft copolymers by combining photoinduced Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) and Ring Opening Polymerization (ROP).

Living free-radical polymerization of styrene under a constant source of gamma radiation
Living polymerization of styrene was observed using gamma radiation as a source of initiation and 1-phenylethyl phenyldithioacetate as a reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent.

Synthesis of controlled polymeric cross-linked coatings via iniferter polymerisation in the presence of tetraethyl thiuram disulphide chain terminator [PDF]
A “grafting from” approach has been used for controlled deposition of cross- linked polymers by living radical polymerisation. Borosilicate glass was modified with N,N-diethylaminodithiocarbamoylpropyl(trimethoxy)silane, in order to confine the ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Anionic polymerization of p-(2,2′-diphenylethyl)styrene and applications to graft copolymers
Well-controlled anionic polymerization of an initiator-functionalized monomer, p-(2,2′-diphenylethyl)styrene (DPES), was achieved for the first time. The polymerization was performed in a mixed solvent of cyclohexane and tetrahydrofuran (THF) at 40 °C ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
