A lixiviation-study of copper arsenides in acid medium

Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1974
Abstract The lixiviation behaviour of the different Cu-arsenides, submitted to the action of several oxidants (O2, H2O2, Fe3+, Ce4+) in acid medium and at different temperatures, is examined. A potential-pH diagram is constituted, from which it can be anticipated that the Cu3−xAs and Cu5−xAs2 phases thermodynamically must give rise to the formation ...

Neutron diffraction study of lixiviated nanocrystalline Mg–Li compound

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 1999
Abstract The ball milled nanocrystalline Mg 72 Li 28 compound before and after lixiviation in water was investigated by neutron and X-ray scattering. The specific surface area before and after treatment was precisely measured. The crystallographic parameters were extracted by Rietveld refinement.

Urban Mining of Precious Metals with Cyanide as Lixiviant

2021
This chapter is devoted to investigations and developments in precious metal leaching from urban mines using cyanide as lixiviant. Factors affecting platinum, palladium, gold, and rhodium leaching are the characteristics of the particular reagent and process chemistry. Extraction mechanisms are discussed in depth. The cyanide leaching order of platinum,

Electrochemical cleaning of soil contaminated with a dichromate lixiviant

International Journal of Mineral Processing, 2003
Abstract Experiments are conducted on kaolin contaminated with a lixiviant obtained from a sodium dichromate plant residue to demonstrate the efficacy of electrochemical cleaning. After 120 h, only 36% chromium is removed from the soil. Chromium removal is high in the first 20 h, after which it falls drastically.

Alternative Lixiviant for Copper Leaching from Chalcopyrite Concentrate

2018
This study investigated leaching kinetics by alternative lixiviants for copper leaching from chalcopyrite (CuFeS2), the most abundant copper resource in the world. As a refractory sulfide mineral, chalcopyrite shows low copper extraction due to passivation on chalcopyrite surface.

Lixiviants for primary gold and/or copper production

JOM, 2007
These days, when a s k e d “ W h a t exactly does a metallurgical engineer do?” the answer can range anywhere from mineral processing to chemical processing to material science. The answer you give is usually dependant on what area of the world you are in, which industry you are currently employed in, and where and in what decade you attended college ...

Dissolution Chemistry of Gold and Silver in Different Lixiviants

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, 1988
Cyanide has been recognized for a long time as a powerful lixiviant for gold and silver, forming very stable cyano complexes with both metals.

Contribution à l'étude de la lixiviation de la chalcopyrite

Hydrometallurgy, 1982
Abstract A study of the kinetics of chalcopyrite dissolution in sulfuric acid medium under oxygen pressure of 70 psia (0.48 MPa) was made on a chalcopyrite concentrate as function of acid concentration, temperature, and grain size. An evaluation of the real surface, an examination of the surface of the grains by scanning electronic microscope, and an

Alternative Lixiviants to Cyanide for Leaching Gold Ores

2016
Over 25 alternative lixiviant processes to cyanide have been tested in the laboratory; some of which have been successful for niche applications. The process conditions, applications and current status of the most attractive are reviewed in this chapter with an emphasis on publications since 1995.

Impacts of heterogeneous manure spreading on nitrate lixiviation

2008
