Thermal performance curves, activity and survival in a free‐ranging ectotherm
We show higher field‐measured locomotor performance increases mortality risk in free‐ranging lizards, challenging assumptions from laboratory‐based thermal performance studies. Our approach combines in situ physiology with survival data, offering new insights into behavioural trade‐offs and fitness under natural conditions.
