4D Printing of Composite Thermoplastic Elastomers for Super‐Stretchable Soft Artificial Muscles

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 29, August 5, 2025.
ABSTRACT This study explores the development of soft, super‐stretchable artificial muscles by 4D printing of composite thermoplastic elastomers. A propylene‐based elastomer, combined with carbon black (CB) nanoparticles, is utilized to develop nanocomposite elastomers with enhanced mechanical properties.

Reassessment of Xenodens calminechari with a discussion of tooth morphology in mosasaurs

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 308, Issue 8, Page 2160-2172, August 2025.
Abstract Xenodens calminechari is a mosasaurid taxon named by Longrich et al. (2021) based on the holotype MHNM.KH.331, a left maxilla with several teeth. This holotype was obtained nonscientifically (without technical supervision) from an area in Morocco that yields many manipulated or forged specimens. Examination of Longrich et al.

Niche Differences in Coexisting Species: Ecological Insights Into the Role of Activity Patterns, Space Use, and Environmental Preferences

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2025.
This work provides novel insights into the spatial and temporal niche differences of two model species. Our findings reveal that microhabitat preferences and activity patterns are important factors of coexistence, complementing thermal and hydric regulation traits previously reported.

High Ambient Temperatures Are Associated With Reduced Foraging Capacity in an Equatorial Mammal, the Banded Mongoose (Mungos mungo)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2025.
Our study investigated behavioural thermoregulation in a population of wild banded mongooses found on the equator living under narrow thermal ranges and so potentially vulnerable to even small increases in temperature. We collected fine‐scale behavioural and environmental data and found evidence of behavioural thermoregulation, with individuals ...
