Electrocatalytically Amplified Immunosensing Enabled by Titanium Oxynitride‐Supported Ru Nanodots on Graphene Oxide Hybrid Architecture

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A synergistic effect among the electrocatalytic Ru/TiON‐GO nanocomposite, biorecognition elements, and the [Fe(CN)6]3−/4− redox probe for highly sensitive and selective impedimetric detection of PSA protein in human serum was demonstrated. The immunosensor exhibited a limit of detection of only 0.06 ng mL−1 PSA protein, underscoring the importance and ...

Examination of Afghanistan's Development Traps

open access: yesRegional Science Policy &Practice, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract We examine the factors behind Afghanistan's persistent underdevelopment. Drawing on various theories of development traps operating at the demographic, economic and institutional levels, we seek to assess whether and to what extent their functioning affects Afghanistan's development. To capture the functioning of development traps empirically,

A Context‐Aware Decision Support Framework for Scientific Experiment Configuration

open access: yesSoftware: Practice and Experience, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Defining an experimental configuration is a complex decision problem for early‐stage researchers, who must map goals, constraints, and requirements onto datasets, algorithms, and parameter settings that directly affect experimental outcomes.

Development and Validation of a Next‐Generation Mechanistic Model of the Electric Arc Furnace

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study presents a next‐generation mechanistic model of the electric arc furnace (EAF). It describes equations for all crucial processes appearing during the steel‐recycling process in an EAF, i.e., thermal, mass, and chemical. The model was parameterized and validated using industrial EAF data.

The Influence of the Pretreatment of Tool Steel on the Running‐In Phase of Diamond‐Like Carbon Coatings

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The influence of tool steel pretreatment on the running‐in behavior of TiNb‐diamond‐like carbon (DLC) coatings is investigated. Ion etching promotes carbide protrusion and increases coating roughness, while post‐deposition polishing reduces surface asperities.

Staying sheltered: geographical variation in nestbox use by a nocturnal raptor outside the breeding season

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Tree cavities and nestboxes are crucial resources for cavity‐nesting birds. While cavities are essential for reproduction, their importance outside the breeding season remains poorly understood, with most existing evidence focusing on nestbox use by small birds to reduce heat loss during winter.

Angle‐dependent X‐ray absorption correction in small‐ and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering: accounting for constrained scattering volume, beam profiles and capillary wall attenuation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
We present an improved numerical angle‐dependent absorption correction procedure for line‐collimated small‐ and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering measurements in thin‐walled quartz capillaries. The procedure accounts for the constrained illuminated volume, measured primary beam profiles and capillary‐wall absorption, enabling physically consistent data ...

Perceptual spatial differentiation of Ljubljana

open access: yesDela, 2004
Geographical studies of human perception of places at local scale are usually aimed at bet-ter understanding of human spatial perception and knowledge about the places, and of using this knowledge in spatial decision-making or spatial behaviour. Our focus on the first part of these general research aims is presented based on a case study, revealing how
