Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 1975
Abstract 1. The body urea pool was higher when less hay was fed, it was lower when sucrose was supplemented. 2. Urea turnover and transfer of urea to the gastrointestinal tract was significantly lower at reduced hay feeding. 3. 3–10 hr after feeding urea turnover and urea transfer to the gut were significantly higher than after 10–20 hr.

Electrocardiogram studies in llamas.
The Japanese journal of veterinary research, 1989Electrocardiograms (ECG) of 3 captive llamas (Lama glama) were recorded by a telemeter at a farm in Japan. The pattern of the ECGs was similar to the ruminant pattern in the AB lead position. QRS and T-waves were discordant in polarity except in one llama, where the polarity of the T wave changed according to the HR.

Congenital ichthyosis in a llama
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1990A 1-month-old male cria was examined because of diffuse hyperkeratosis and conjunctivitis that had existed since birth. The mucocutaneous junction of the nostrils as well as the neck, coronary bands, and axillary and inguinal regions were the most severely affected areas. Orthokeratosis involving the epidermis and follicular infundibula was observed on

CEREBROSPINAL PARELAPHOSTRONGYLOSIS IN LLAMAS
Journal of Wildlife Diseases, 1978Four of 11 llamas (Lama guanicoe) from a ranch near Houston, Texas developed clinical signs of a neurologic disease. Tissues from 2 of the 4 llamas were submitted for microscopic examination. Lesions in the central nervous system of both llamas appeared to have been caused by a migrating parasite.

Congenital Defects in the Llama
Veterinary Clinics of North America: Food Animal Practice, 1994When faced with the question of what you should do as a veterinary practitioner, when presented with a congenital defect in a llama, one answer is to seek qualified help from your state veterinary diagnostic laboratory. But most importantly, encourage the owners of such animals to report the defect to their llama association, including pedigree ...

Diaphragmatic hernia in a llama
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1993A 7-year-old castrated male llama was admitted for evaluation of mild colic. Exploratory celiotomy revealed a diaphragmatic hernia that was entrapping the proximal portion of the ascending colon. The hernia was reduced, and the devitalized ileum, cecum, and 45 cm of the proximal portion of the ascending colon were resected.

Can a Llama Be a Watchdog? Exploring Llama 3 and Code Llama for Static Application Security Testing
2024 IEEE International Conference on Cyber Security and Resilience (CSR)Research in software vulnerability detection has seen significant growth, with numerous systems and techniques being developed. Deep learning approaches have become partic-ularly popular, with various architectures being adapted for this purpose. Llama 3, the newest AI model from Meta, was released in April 2024.

Llamas are anesthetized conveniently with guaifenesin thiamylal mixes, or, for short periods of time, with xylazine/ketamine. Small individuals must be accurately weighed. Estimating weight without experience is dangerous in this species. The greatest levels of safety and control, especially for critical patients, is afforded by inhalation anesthesia ...

Blood, 2011
In this issue of Blood , Ulrichts and coworkers report preclinical studies of a novel bivalent heavy chain-only nanobody, ALX-0081, directed at the A1 domain of VWF that inhibits VWF binding to platelet glycoprotein Ibα[1][1] (see figure).
