DTW. Deutsche tierarztliche Wochenschrift, 2004In the present study the suckling behaviour of six Ilama crias was analysed. A total of 3398 suckling bouts were observed and evaluated. The crias mostly suckled in a reverse parallel position with no side preference. The cria initiated suckling in most suckling bouts whereas the dams usually ended them.

Immune response of the llama (Lama glama) to tetanus toxoid vaccination
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1989SUMMARY An elisa was developed to measure serum concentrations of tetanus toxoid-specific immunoglobulins. The titers obtained with this assay were compatible with those obtained by the standard mouse toxin-neutralization test. Serum samples from 123 llamas were analyzed for elisa titers to tetanus toxoid.
