A simple resonant frequency tracking technique for LLC resonant converters

2017 IEEE 6th International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications (ICRERA), 2017
A LLC resonant converter (LLC-RC) has been widely used in DC/DC converters for the benefits of high efficiency and high power density. The efficiency of a LLC resonant converter is greatly dependent on the switching frequency. In order to achieve higher efficiency, the switching frequency should be equal to the resonant frequency. This paper presents a

LLC resonant converters for PHEV battery chargers

2013 Twenty-Eighth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2013
The load-dependent properties of LLC resonant converter leads to enormous difficulty in regular design of the converter, even when the load characteristic is usually assumed to be passive for the design simplification. For a battery charger, the output voltage requirement is quite different and is more challenging compared with the passive load.

Parallel resonant converter with LLC-type commutation

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1989
It is shown that by using a proper transformation of state variables, the third-order system of the parallel resonant converter (PRC) with LLC-type commutation can be analyzed by means of a two-dimensional state-plane diagram. A set of characteristic curves which can be used for the converter design is derived from the analysis.

Analysis of a Hybrid Variable-Frequency-Duty-Cycle-Modulated Low-$Q$ $LLC$ Resonant Converter for Improving the Light-Load Efficiency for a Wide Input Voltage Range

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2021
Light load efficiency and output voltage regulation of a low-$Q$ LLC resonant converter is a critical problem for wide input voltage and load range applications. Parasitic capacitances such as rectifier diode junction capacitance ($C_j$) degrade the soft

A Hybrid Pulse Frequency Modulation Control Strategy for L-LLC Resonant Converter

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2022
The traditional control strategy for the L-LLC resonant converter is the synchronous unequal width pulse frequency modulation (SUW PFM). However, this strategy causes a large circulating power in the forward buck and reverse boost modes, especially when ...

PWAM control of bidirectional LLC resonant converter

2013 1st International Future Energy Electronics Conference (IFEEC), 2013
This paper proposes an improved bidirectional LLC resonant converter with pulse width and amplitude modulation (PWAM) control method. With the proposed PWAM control method, the converter can be operated with a much wider voltage range at a fixed switching frequency, which can be equal to the resonant frequency.
