Health and Aging Brain Study–Health Disparities (HABS‐HD) methods and partner characteristics

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia: Translational Research &Clinical Interventions, Volume 11, Issue 3, July-September 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION The Health and Aging Brain Study–Health Disparities (HABS‐HD) is an ongoing prospective study aimed at understanding brain health and aging. The current work provides a description of the cohort baseline characteristics and outlines the study methodology. METHODS We analyzed available data from n = 1066 non‐Hispanic Black (NHB), n

Synthesis and Characterisation of {PdNO}10 Pincer Complexes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 10, April 1, 2025.
The synthesis and characterisation of two square planar {PdNO}10 pincer complexes [Pd(pincer)(NO)]+ is reported. Experimental evidence indicates adoption of a bent M−NO coordination mode and the underlying electronic features have been scrutinised using DFT‐based effective oxidation state calculations and energy decomposition analysis.

Granular Interfaces in TENGs: The Role of Close‐Packed Polymer Bead Monolayers for Energy Harvesters

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 9, March 5, 2025.
Here, a novel granular‐interfaced TENG comprising HCP ordered polymer bead monolayers is introduced that shows stable output over 10 000 cycles. The findings shows that mechanical properties and large size difference between beads in contact enhances the output.

Highly Sensitive Dispersion Characterization of mm‐Length Silicon Nitride Waveguides and Their Couplers Around the Zero‐Dispersion Wavelength

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 5, February 13, 2025.
Quantifying the dispersion of on‐chip photonic components is quintessential but remains challenging, especially if the dispersion is weak. Here, a new dispersion measurement technique based on time‐of‐flight and spatial light modulator technology is presented and applied to silicon nitride waveguides and couplers.

Navigating the Landscape of Dry Assembling Ordered Particle Structures: Can Solvents Become Obsolete?

open access: yesSmall, Volume 20, Issue 49, December 5, 2024.
This unique review critically elaborates on the recently proposed assembly of colloids into ordered structures without using solvents, i.e., dry assembly methods. Additionally, challenges and opportunities are required to inspire scientists to advance the field from a fundamental and application perspective.

SARS‐CoV‐2 testing, positivity, and factors associated with COVID‐19 among people with HIV across Europe in the multinational EuroSIDA cohort

open access: yesHIV Medicine, Volume 25, Issue 6, Page 711-724, June 2024.
Abstract Background Although people with HIV might be at risk of severe outcomes from infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2; coronavirus 2019 [COVID‐19]), regional and temporal differences in SARS‐CoV‐2 testing in people with HIV across Europe have not been previously described.

Predictors of poor health‐related quality of life among people living with HIV aged ≥60 years in the PISCIS cohort: Findings from the Vive+ project

open access: yesHIV Medicine, Volume 25, Issue 4, Page 424-439, April 2024.
Abstract Introduction Advancements in and accessibility to effective antiretroviral therapy has improved the life expectancy of people living with HIV, increasing the proportion of people living with HIV reaching older age (≥60 years), making this population's health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) more relevant.

Prevalence and Incidence of Parkinson's Disease in Latin America: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesMovement Disorders, Volume 39, Issue 1, Page 105-118, January 2024.
Abstract Background Parkinson's disease (PD) is a rapidly growing neurodegenerative disorder, but up‐to‐date epidemiological data are lacking in Latin America. We sought to estimate the prevalence and incidence of PD and parkinsonism in Latin America. Methods We searched Medline, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, Scientific Electronic Library Online, and
