Wearable Body Temperature Sensing with Autonomous Self‐regulated Joule Heating and Passive Cooling for Healthcare Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 13, March 25, 2025.
A flexible and eco‐friendly composite film of lauric acid, styrene‐ethylene‐butylene‐styrene, and graphene nanoplatelets achieves ultra‐sensitive temperature responsiveness at body‐relevant temperatures (35–40 °C). With a PTC intensity of 4 orders of magnitude and a TCR of 471.4% °C⁻¹, this novel material offers groundbreaking applications in wearable ...

Person‐centred interventions to improve patient−provider relationships for HIV services in low‐ and middle‐income countries: a systematic review

open access: yesJournal of the International AIDS Society, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2024.
Abstract Introduction Person‐centred care (PCC) has been recognized as a critical element in delivering quality and responsive health services. The patient−provider relationship, conceptualized at the core of PCC in multiple models, remains largely unexamined in HIV care.

Achieving 21.4% Efficient CdSeTe/CdTe Solar Cells Using Highly Resistive Intrinsic ZnO Buffer Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 34, Issue 14, April 3, 2024.
The incorporation of a ZnO buffer layer in the CdSeTe device structure has led to conversion efficiencies exceeding 21%. The ZnO carrier concentration is orders of magnitude lower than that of the conventional SnO2 buffer. ZnO creates a high‐quality interface with CdSeTe, resulting in the unusual omission of Cl at the front interface.

Pericardial delta like non‐canonical NOTCH ligand 1 (Dlk1) augments fibrosis in the heart through epithelial to mesenchymal transition

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2024.
Cardiac fibrosis after myocardial infarction (MI) eventually leads to heart failure. The fibrotic response is mediated by pericardial cells undergoing epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT). We identified Delta like non‐canonical Notch ligand‐1 (Dlk1) in the pericardium and its fluid, where it promotes EMT and infarct size.

Modeling the effect of shroud contact and friction dampers on the mistuned response of turbopumps

open access: yes, 1994
The contract has been revised. Under the revised scope of work a reduced order model has been developed that can be used to predict the steady-state response of mistuned bladed disks. The approach has been implemented in a computer code, LMCC.
