Scantling multi-objective optimisation of a LNG carrier

open access: yesMarine Structures, 2010
Numerous real-world problems related to ship design can be solved by various alternatives. However, the scantling design has conflicting objectives such as minimum production cost, minimum weight and maximum moment of inertia (stiffness). Therefore a multi-purpose solution had to be settled in order to meet all these requirements at once.

Dispersive properties of quasi-phase-matched optical parametric amplifiers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The dispersive properties of non-degenerate optical parametric amplification in quasi-phase-matched (QPM) nonlinear quadratic crystals with an arbitrary grating profile are theoretically investigated in the no-pump-depletion limit.

Subsidies, Net Zero Transition and Public Debt: An Analysis for the Oil and Gas Industry in Brazil

open access: yesLatin American Policy, Volume 17, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Despite awareness of the challenges in promoting the decarbonization of the economy, explicit fossil fuel subsidies have increased considerably worldwide in the past decade, reaching an all‐time high at US$1 trillion in 2022. Considering the net‐zero transition and the increase of modern public debt, this article assesses the most relevant ...

Methane Slip During Cargo Operations on LNG Carriers and LNG-Fueled Vessels [PDF]

open access: yesNew Trends in Production Engineering, 2018
Abstract In this paper was presented the problems of methane leakages during cargo operations on LNG carriers. Also the leakages are possible on LNG fueled vessels. Due to green-house effect from methane on the atmosphere it should be done some measures to avoid it.

Cure Kinetics and Chemorheological Modeling of a Transesterification‐Based Epoxy/Anhydride Vitrimer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 7, February 15, 2026.
Cure kinetics and chemorheological model predictions of experimental reaction rate and chemoviscosity evolutions. ABSTRACT This study presents the cure kinetics, glass transition temperature (T g ) and chemoviscosity models for an epoxy vitrimer synthesized from DGEBA, methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride (MHHPA), and triethanolamine (TEOA).

Pressure Control of Insulation Space for Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier with Nonlinear Feedback Technique

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2018
This paper introduces a novel control strategy into the insulation space for liquid natural gas carriers. The control strategy proposed can improve the effects of control for differential pressure and reduce the energy consumption of nitrogen. The method

Perspective on the Technology Status of Chemical Hydrogen Carriers for Ship‐Based Energy Import

open access: yesElectrochemical Science Advances, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT The transport of hydrogen for the import of renewable energy will play an important role for the highly industrialized regions in Europe to meet their energy needs. As the storage and transportation of neat hydrogen comes with considerable downsides with respect to energy density and infrastructure compatibility, chemical hydrogen carriers are

Molecular basis and biological relevance of bacterial and plant pinoresinol/lariciresinol reductase specificities

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract A bacterial pinoresinol/lariciresinol reductase (PLR) homolog named NrPinZ was obtained from a Novosphingobium rhizosphaerae sp. LY bacterial strain, with NrPinZ being part of its 5‐step biochemical system catabolizing pinoresinol into coniferyl aldehyde and vanillin.
