This chapter describes a manual method for allocating and smoothing resources, if a computer is not available, or for examination purposes, by adding these to the activities of a bar chart (Gantt chart), which was itself created by abstracting the activities and durations from a network. The resources on the bar chart can then be summated for each time

Expressions are derived for the loads on an aircraft produced during take-off and landing. Loads generated during level flight are calculated and symmetric maneuver loads, such as those corresponding to the pull-out from a dive, are determined. The loads induced during a correctly banked turn are calculated.

Probability Based Load Criteria: Load Factors and Load Combinations
Journal of the Structural Division, 1982This is the second of two papers that describe a study conducted to develop probability-based load factors and load combinations suitable for use with common construction materials and technologies. In the second phase of the study, described in this paper, the checking equation format for the proposed load criteria was selected, and the load factors ...

Physiological responses to load holding and load carriage
Ergonomics, 1983Abstract Seven young healthy male subjects held and carried loads of 15,20,25, 30 and 40 kg to exhaustion in a lotal of 280 tests. The mean maximum time for load holding was found to be hypcrbolically related to the mass of the load. The for load carrying was shorter than for load holding, and the hyperbolic relationships for both load holding and load

Annual load relief map, peak load and load factor analysis
Proceedings of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1917Description of the annual load relief map which is a device for visualizing the entire yearly load of central stations. Review of load characteristics, as exemplified by the annual load relief map. Notes on daylight saving relative to the decreasing of peak load, and improvement in load factor. Analysis of load factors as applied to ``base'' and ``top''

THE SUBSTITUTIONAL LOAD AND MUTATIONAL LOAD IN A FINITE POPULATION
Evolution, 1973The "cost of natural selection or substitutional load" first investigated by Haldane (1957, 1960) has since played an increasingly important role in evolutionary theory. For reviews, see Crow (1968, 1970), Kimura (1968), Crow and Kimura (1970, chapter 5), and Kimura and Ohta (1971).

In this chapter, we will go slowly through the MOV and ADD instructions to lay the groundwork on how they work, especially in the way they handle parameters (operands), so that, in the following chapters, we can proceed at a faster pace as we encounter the rest of the ARM instruction set.

Optimization of load-transfer and load-diffusion
Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, 2017The problem of optimization of a stringer, or a stiffener, attached to an elastic infinite plate is investigated. The plate is exposed to tensioning by uniformly distributed forces, and also to contact stresses due to forces as a result of enforced continuity with the reinforcing stiffener.
