Deformation of cavities and resin fillings in loaded teeth

European Journal of Oral Sciences, 1976
abstract— The purpose of the present work was to study (1) the deformation of selected types of cavities in axially loaded human teeth and (2) the possible effect of this deformation on the restorative quality of fillings in the cavities. Recently extracted wet teeth without any visible structural defects were used throughout the study.

Load bearing and deformation behaviour of dynamically loaded wide plate specimens

Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1989
Abstract For the testing of large-scale specimens, a 12 MN-High Loading Rate Tensile Testing Machine was designed and built at MPA Stuttgart. The aim was to determine the influence of high loading rates on the stress and strain behaviour of unwelded and welded components of ferritic and austenitic materials. This new generation of testing machines is

Deformation and subcritical crack growth under static loading

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 1989
Abstract To examine the effect of creep deformation rate on crack growth, an analytical relationship between the kinetics of crack growth in an inert environment and the deformation kinetics is developed by combining a tensile ligament instability model for crack growth with Hart's model for uniaxial creep deformation. The modified model was examined

Formation Loading and Deformation of Expandable Sand Screens

SPE European Formation Damage Conference, 2011
Abstract The slotted version of Expandable Sand Screens (ESS) is easy to expand into compliant contact with the wellbore. This has numerous advantages in sand retention, completion reliability and the maintenance of high productivity. However, the use of a slotted base pipe design will limit mechanical strength.

Deformation analysis of Al Alloy AA2024 through equal channel angular pressing for aircraft structures

Advances in Materials and Processing Technologies, 2020
Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) is one of the most innovative Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) methods used for grain refinement of materials up to ultra-fined or Nano structured level which leads to superior mechanical properties.

Deformation and transformation in experimentally shock-loaded quartz

Physics and Chemistry of Minerals, 1985
Single crystals of quartz, shock-loaded along the a axis to pressures of 22 Gpa, 24 GPa, 26 GPa and 30 GPa were examined by high-voltage transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction. Asymmetric broadenings of X-ray lines indicate spatial inhomogeneity of shock effects.

Deformation and failure of blast-loaded square plates

International Journal of Impact Engineering, 1999
Abstract Numerical results for clamped, thin square steel plates subjected to blast loading are presented. The numerical analysis is based on a finite element formulation, which includes the nonlinear effects of geometry and material as well as strain rate sensitivity.

Deformation and failure of blast-loaded stiffened plates

International Journal of Impact Engineering, 2000
Numerical results for clamped, square stiffened steel plates subjected to blast loading are presented. The finite element formulation, which includes the effects of geometric and material nonlinearities as well as strain rate sensitivity, forms the basis for the numerical analysis.
