Creep Deformation and Rupture Under Non-Proportional Loading

1981
The behaviour of copper, an aluminium alloy and Nimonic 80A has been investigated for non-proportional loading conditions. The results of simple creep experiments conducted on thin tubes are reported and are interpreted in the light of a single state variable theory for proportional loading. It is shown that the behaviour of the chosen materials may be

Deformation measurements and simulations of blast loaded plates

Three aluminum plates are subjected to a free-air explosive loading with 40g of C4. Combining two highspeed cameras in a stereoscopic setup and the digital image correlation technique, the full-field deformation is identified. Furthermore, the identified deformation fields are compared by data computed with an explicit finite element method.

Estimationof Loads and Frame Deformation on Motorcycle Handling

SAE Technical Paper Series
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Motorcycle frames have been designed based on static stiffness, which are frame characteristics related to stability and maneuverability. With this approach, lightweight frames have been designed, while achieving stability and maneuverability have been an ongoing trial-and-error ...
