A simulation technique for assessing both the fabrication and operation of a solid‐state Si battery is demonstrated by integrating particle dynamics with mass/charge transport. Although, the fabrication pressure (Pfab) increased the inter‐particle contacts and reduced the concentration (ηconc) and Li‐ion (ηLi+) overpotentials during discharging, it ...

Improving power grid transient stability by plug-in electric vehicles [PDF]
Plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) can serve in discharge mode as distributed energy and power resources operating as vehicle-to-grid (V2G) devices and in charge mode as loads or grid-to-vehicle (G2V) devices. It has been documented that PEVs serving as V2G systems can offer possible backup for renewable power sources, can provide reactive power support,

Carbon Nanotube 3D Integrated Circuits: From Design to Applications
As Moore's law approaches its physical limits, carbon nanotube (CNT) 3D integrated circuits (ICs) emerge as a promising alternative due to the miniaturization, high mobility, and low power consumption. CNT 3D ICs in optoelectronics, memory, and monolithic ICs are reviewed while addressing challenges in fabrication, design, and integration.

Energy balancing using charge/discharge storages control and load forecasts in a renewable-energy-based grids [PDF]
Renewable-energy-based grids development needs new methods to maintain the balance between the load and generation using the efficient energy storages models. Most of the available energy storages models do not take into account such important features as the nonlinear dependence of efficiency on lifetime and changes in capacity over time horizon, the ...

Supervised MPC control of large-scale electricity networks via clustering methods [PDF]
This paper describes a control approach for large-scale electricity networks, with the goal of efficiently coordinating distributed generators to balance unexpected load variations with respect to nominal forecasts. To mitigate the difficulties due to the size of the problem, the proposed methodology is divided in two steps.

Analysis and design of a two-speed single-phase induction motor with 2 and 18 pole special windings [PDF]
The motor presented employs multiple independent windings for operation with two very different pole numbers. The 18-pole field is produced with a symmetrical three-phase winding connected in a Steinmetz arrangement to a single-phase supply.

This study demonstrates the use of a low‐cost 3D printing technique to prepare a large‐area PVDF‐FAPbI3 composite dielectric film for flexible TENG application. The δ→α phase transformation of the FAPbI3 nanofillers has significantly improved the β‐phase content, morphology, and dielectric properties of the PVDF film.
