Reactive power compensation and load balancing in electric power distribution systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, 1998
This article presents a new method for reactive power compensation and load balancing in a four-wire, three-phase distribution system. An IGBT-based PWM voltage source inverter with a dc bus capacitor is used as a compensator. The hysteresis-based carrierless PWM current control is employed to derive switching signals to the devices of the compensator.

PLUG: A City-Friendly Navigation Model for Electric Vehicles with Power Load Balancing upon the Grid

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal, 2023
Worldwide, in many cities, electric vehicles (EVs) have started to spread as a green alternative in transportation. Several well-known automakers have announced their plans to switch to all-electric engines very soon, although for EV drivers, battery range is still a significant concern—especially when driving on long-distance trips and driving EVs ...

Data from numerical analysis, simulation and experimental determinations performed to verify the sizing of an unbalanced capacitive compensator for three-phase four-wires networks

open access: yesData in Brief, 2019
In a three-phase four-wire distribution network, the load unbalance can be compensated by the use of an unbalanced three-phase reactive compensator, containing six single-phase coils and capacitors, grouped into two distinct circuits, having Yn and delta
