Factorized Load Flow

This paper extends to the load flow problem the factorized solution methodology recently developed for equality-constrained state estimation. This is done by considering a redundant set of initial conditions in order to transform the undetermined system arising in the first linear stage into an overdetermined one.

In this chapter we present results on three typical power systems. First is a basic 3-bus system. Reader should be able to check our results easily. The IEEE 30-bus and an ill-conditioned 43-bus system are also solved and results compared with standard Newton-Raphson results for the 30-bus system.

Load Flow Analysis with Voltage-Sensitive Loads

This paper conducts load-flow analysis of a five-bus test system containing voltage sensitive loads. Generalized equations that are suitable for the voltage sensitive loads and applicable to the Newton-Raphson method are developed. Three load flow studies are carried out. In the first study, all loads are assumed as constant power loads.
