Advances in forecasting with artificial neural networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
There is decades long research interest in artificial neural networks (ANNs) that has led to several successful applications. In forecasting, both in theoretical and empirical works, ANNs have shown evidence of good performance, in many cases ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Weather corrected electricity demand forecasting

open access: yes, 2012
Electricity load forecasts now form an essential part of the routine operations of electricity companies. The complexity of the short-term load forecasting (STLF) problem arises from the multiple seasonal components, the change in consumer behaviour ...

An intelligent hybrid short-term load forecasting model for smart power grids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
An accurate load forecasting is always particularly important for optimal planning and energy management in smart buildings and power systems. Millions of dollars can be saved annually by increasing a small degree of improvement in prediction accuracy ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Comparison of advanced learning algorithms for short-term load forecasting

open access: yes, 2000
Neural Networks are currently finding practical applications, ranging from 'soft' regulatory control in consumer products to accurate modelling of non-linear systems.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Achieving high precision and balanced multi-energy load forecasting with mixed time scales: a multi-task learning model with stacked cross-attention

open access: yesEnergy and AI
Accurate multi-energy load forecasting is a prerequisite for on-demand energy supply in integrated energy systems. However, due to differences in response characteristics and load patterns among electrical, heating, and cooling loads, multi-energy load ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
