Load Frequency Control (LFC) Strategies in Renewable Energy-Based Hybrid Power Systems: A Review
The hybrid power system is a combination of renewable energy power plants and conventional energy power plants. This integration causes power quality issues including poor settling times and higher transient contents. The main issue of such interconnection is the frequency variations caused in the hybrid power system.

Abstract This paper presents a novel load frequency control (LFC) model for a stand-alone hybrid micro-grid in the presence of renewable energy resources. A perilous fact in operation of isolated micro-grid is to deal with a low-inertia system owing to the unpredictable structure and the intermittent fluctuation of RESs.

A novel technique for load frequency control of multi-area power systems [PDF]
In this paper, an adaptive type-2 fuzzy controller is proposed to control the load frequency of a two-area power system based on descending gradient training and error back-propagation. The dynamics of the system are completely uncertain.

SCA based Fractional-order PID Controller Considering Delayed EV Aggregators [PDF]
The EVs battery has the ability to enhance the balance between the load demand and power generation units. The EV aggregators to manage the random behaviour of EV owners and increasing EVs participation in the ancillary services market are employed.

Distributed Model Predictive Load Frequency Control of multi-area Power Grid: A Decoupling Approach [PDF]
A model-predictive scheme for load frequency control of a multi-area power system is proposed. The method depends on a decoupling technique which allows for a control design with a distributed architecture.

A Survey on Load Frequency Control of Multi-Area Power Systems: Recent Challenges and Strategies
Load frequency control (LFC) is well known for balancing the load demand and frequency for a multi-area power system. Studies have proven that LFC can improve the global performance of multi-area power systems.

Distributed LQR design for identical dynamically coupled systems: Application to load frequency control of multi-area power grid [PDF]
The paper proposes a distributed LQR method for the solution to regulator problems of networks composed of dynamically dependent agents. It is assumed that these dynamical couplings among agents can be expressed in a state-space form of a certain ...
