The effects of mechanical loading on marginal integrity of composite restorations
Dental Materials, 1986Abstract Utilization of composite restorations in high stress areas requires a re-evaluation of this factor in relationship to marginal integrity. Sixty Class V cavity preparations were prepared in the buccal surfaces of premolars and restored by conventional methods using a bonding agent and large particle composite resin.

Microleakage of temporary restorations after thermocycling and mechanical loading
Journal of Endodontics, 1997The marginal seal of four temporary filling materials in endodontic access cavities was examined in vitro after thermocycling and mechanical loading using dye penetration tests and a quantitative marginal analysis of replicas in the SEM. Class I cavities were prepared in 44 extracted human molars and filled either with Cavit, Kalsogen, IRM, or TERM ...

Load reallocation in the service restoration application for distribution networks
ISGT 2014, 2014The service restoration of medium voltage distribution networks considering load reallocation in the substation areas that are topological neighbors to de-energized area is presented in this paper. The heuristic graph-based approach based on Prim's algorithm for finding the minimum spanning tree logic is implemented in the service restoration ...

A Hierarchical Response-Based Approach to the Load Restoration Problem
IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2017Power system resilience is the ability of an electric power grid to withstand, absorb, and rapidly recover from low-probability high-impact disasters. In recent years, several major incidents all around the world have highlighted the need for operative solutions in order to materialize the resilience of the power grid in response to such catastrophic ...

Effect of Restorative Procedures and Occlusal Loading on Cuspal Deflection
Operative Dentistry, 2006SUMMARY This study examined the extent of cuspal flexure caused by progressively larger cavity preparations, including endodontic access, and progressive simulated occlusal loading with 50N, 100N and 150N. Ten intact extracted maxillary premolars were embedded in acrylic resin, and a small ball was attached to each cuspal tip as a ...

Secondary caries limits the longevity of restorations and is thought to be associated with faulty restorations, e.g. dentin-restoration interfacial gaps. Recent evidence indicates that loading of restorations might aggravate the effects of gaps on interfacial mineral loss.

Co-Influence of Restoration Bonding and Inlay Cavity Design on Fracture Load of Restored Tooth
European Journal of Prosthodontics and Restorative DentistryThe aim of this study was to investigate the co-influence of indirect mesio- occlusal-distal (MOD) cavity geometry and inlay restoration bonding on quasi-static fracture load of the restored tooth.Forty-eight intact human molar teeth were selected and prepared for standardized edge-shaped or round-shaped MOD cavities. The resin composite (Cerasmart, GC)

Debonding of adhesively restored deep Class II MOD restorations after functional loading.
American journal of dentistry, 1999To assess debonding due to functional loading at the cervical dentin margins of deep Class II MOD restorations prepared with a variety of adhesive restoratives in endodontically-treated teeth.MOD preparations and endodontic treatment were carried out on extracted sound maxillary premolars.
