Towards Optimal Distributed Node Scheduling in a Multihop Wireless Network through Local Voting

open access: yes, 2017
In a multihop wireless network, it is crucial but challenging to schedule transmissions in an efficient and fair manner. In this paper, a novel distributed node scheduling algorithm, called Local Voting, is proposed. This algorithm tries to semi-equalize

Generalized Spring Tensor Algorithms: with Workflow Scheduling Applications in Cloud Computing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In Cloud Computing, designing an efficient workflow scheduling algorithm is considered as a main goal. Load balancing is one of the most sophisticated methodologies, which can optimize workflow scheduling by distributing the load evenly among available ...

Lifestyle Behaviors and Cardiotoxic Treatment Risks in Adult Childhood Cancer Survivors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Higher doses of anthracyclines and heart‐relevant radiotherapy increase cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. This study assessed CVD and CVD risk factors among adult childhood cancer survivors (CCSs) across cardiotoxic treatment risk groups and examined associations between lifestyle behaviors and treatment risks.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

A Cost-Effective Optimization for Scheduling of Household Appliances and Energy Resources

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In literature, proposed approaches mostly focused on household appliances scheduling for reducing consumers’ electricity bills, peak-to-average ratio, electricity usage in peak load hours, and enhancing user comfort level.

Characterizing Parental Concerns About Lasting Impacts of Treatment in Children With B‐Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer, and while most children in high‐resource settings are cured, therapy carries risks for long‐term toxicities. Understanding parents’ concerns about these late effects is essential to guide anticipatory support and inform evolving therapeutic approaches ...

Adaptive Discrete Electric Vehicle Charging Scheduling Strategy for Power Grid Load Stability [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng
With the rapid development of electric vehicles, a large number of charging demand will bring about problems such as increased peak-valley difference of distribution network load and uncertainty of charging load.

A Comparative Study of Cerebral Oxygenation During Exercise in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Predicting the Future Burden of Renal Replacement Therapy in Türkiye Using National Registry Data and Comparative Modeling Approaches

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...
