Gear Contact Model and Loaded Tooth Contact Analysis of a Three-Dimensional, Thin-Rimmed Gear

Journal of Mechanical Design, 2002
This paper performs loaded tooth contact analysis of a three-dimensional, thin-rimmed gear (3DTRG) by presenting a method that combines the mathematical programming method with the three-dimensional, finite element method (3DFEM). Also, a face-contact and whole gear deformation model is used for the 3DTRG.

Modeling of Helical Gear Power Tri-Branching Transmission Based on Loaded Tooth Contact Analysis

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
According to the principle of tri-branching, a mechanism structural model was developed to analyze the helical gear transmission system. On the base of loaded tooth contact analysis (LTCA), the load transmission error of each gear stage is simulated at the any engagement position, and the fitting curves of the torsion mesh stiffness are obtained, which

Loaded multi-tooth contact analysis and calculation for contact stress of face-gear drive with spur involute pinion

Journal of Central South University, 2013
The analytical method based on “Hertz theory on normal contact of elastic solids” and the numerical method based on finite element method (FEM) calculating the contact stress of face-gear drive with spur involute pinion were introduced, and their relative errors are below 10%, except edge contact, which turns out that these two methods can compute ...

New Calculation Method for the Load Capacity of Bevel And Hypoid Gears Based on Loaded Tooth Contact Analysis

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
At the FZG (Gear Research Centre, Munich, Germany) a research project was carried out to analyze the influence of the hypoid offset on the load capacity of bevel gears by systematic theoretical and experimental investigations. For the experimental investigations two types of bevel gears were designed, one for the pitting tests and one for the tooth ...

Loaded Tooth Contact Pattern Analysis for Strain Wave Gear With Non-Elliptical Wave Generator

Volume 10: 2019 International Power Transmission and Gearing Conference, 2019
Abstract This paper presents a new non-elliptical wave generator for strain wave gear to improve its contact pattern quality. The new wave generator has a polynomial profile at one cross section, then crowned along the lead direction. The lead crowning uses a parabolic function with crowning amount controlled by parabolic coefficient ...
