Human Voice as a Measure of Mental Load Level

Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, 2018
PurposeThe aim of this study was to determine a reliable and efficient set of acoustic parameters of the human voice able to estimate individuals' mental load level. Implementing detection methods and real-time analysis of mental load is a major challenge for monitoring and enhancing human task performance, especially during high-risk activities (e.g.,

Loading Levels from Files

2013
Many games consist of different levels. Especially in casual games such as puzzles and maze games, the game may have several hundreds of levels. With the programming tools that we have seen thus far, we could add different levels to our game by, for example, writing a generic Level class, and then defining (hundreds of) subclasses, where each class ...

Optimal sizing, loading and re-loading in a multi-level memory hierarchy system

Proceedings of the May 18-20, 1971, spring joint computer conference on - AFIPS '71 (Spring), 1971
Starting with the appearance of the third generation computers the demand for memory storage devices has increased. This increased demand has been for both the main storage and auxiliary storage devices. The major reasons for this increase were the problems of larger data processing tasks and the introduction of multiprogramming and time-sharing.

Cyclic thermal loading in the creep range—I. Low levels of thermal loading

International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1985
Upper bounds on the deformation rates of structures subjected to cyclic thermal loading in the creep range are presented for low levels of thermal loading for a simple creep constitutive equation which includes the effect of thermal recovery. It is argued that the combination of material assumptions are conservative.

Cyclic thermal loading in the creep range—II. High levels of thermal loading

International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1985
[For part I see the summary above (Zbl 0555.73042).] - An upper displacement bound is presented for thermal loading problems that allows energy to be dissipated as a result of the cyclic variation of strain in parts of the structure. Use of the bound requires a knowledge of the thermo-elastic stress distribution resulting from the cycle of temperature ...

Session-Level Load Balancing for High-Dimensional Systems

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2009
Load balancing is critical for the performance of big server clusters. Although many load balancers are available for improving performance in parallel applications, the load-balancing problem is not fully solved yet. Recent advances in security and architecture design advocate load balancing on a session level.

Low Boron Level Loading Pattern

Volume 1: Plant Operations, Maintenance, Installations and Life Cycle; Component Reliability and Materials Issues; Advanced Applications of Nuclear Technology; Codes, Standards, Licensing and Regulatory Issues, 2008
A new core loading pattern scheme has been developed with the objective of significantly reducing both the maximum and cycle average RCS (Reactor Cooling System) soluble boron requirements for a typical PWR (Pressurized Water Reactor) plant with 18 month cycle.

Behavioral Level Modeling of Gate Level Loading Effects

1991
ABSTRACT Back–annotation is a method for loading gate models with their fan–in and fan–out information for an accurate timing analysis. Alternatively, the models can be made smart enough to find their own loading. This way the netlist generation becomes more flexible, and the need for a separate back–annotation pass is eliminated.

A power management approach for load leveling

2003 IEEE 58th Vehicular Technology Conference. VTC 2003-Fall (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37484), 2003
Electrical generating utilities are increasingly annoyed with the growing gap between the peaks and valleys of electricity demand. This paper proposes a power management approach for load leveling by utilizing battery-equipped devices. This approach implements a peak-shift on devices which include a built-in battery.
