Superabsorbent polymers are widely used in children's toys and decorative products, and they possess the ability to expand significantly in water.

Acute Medicine &Surgery, Volume 13, Issue 1, January/December 2026.A rare case of autoimmune pulmonary alveolar proteinosis complicated by invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae infection was successfully managed with veno‐venous ECMO. ECMO enabled timely whole lung lavage during recovery from septic shock, which yielded atypical yellowish‐brown fluid likely reflecting infection and led to clinical improvement.
