Differences in risk factors for mortality between T2N1M0 and T3N0M0 lobular breast cancer patients: a comparative study

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
ObjectiveThis study aimed to explore the differences in risk factors for mortality between T2N1M0 and T3N0M0 lobular breast cancer, and investigate the factors associated with non-lobular breast cancer mortality.MethodsData from 2,693 T2N1M0 and 1,384 ...

Safety and Metabolic Effects of Withania somnifera Seed Extract and Powder in Rats: Insights From DPP‐4 Molecular Docking

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Withania somnifera seed extract and powder improved metabolic parameters in rats, particularly at higher extract doses, without evident hepatic, renal, hematological, or histopathological toxicity. Molecular docking further predicted strong DPP‐4 inhibitory potential of withanone, supporting the antidiabetic potential of W. somnifera seeds.

Lobular and non-lobular breast cancers differ regarding axillary lymph node metastasis: a cross-sectional study on 4,292 consecutive patients

open access: yes, 2011
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) accounts for 8-14% of all breast cancers and carries distinct prognostic and biologic implications. The goal of our study was to investigate the impact of lobular histology on axillary lymph node (ALN) involvement.

A Case Report: Lobular Carcinoma In Situ in a Male Patient with Subsequent Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Identified on Screening Breast MRI

open access: yesJournal of Cancer, 2012
Lobular carcinoma in situ is a form of in situ neoplasia that develops within the terminal lobules of the breast. It is an extremely rare finding in males due to the lack of lobular development in the male breast.

Pleomorphic Lobular Carcinoma in a Male Breast: A Rare Occurrence

open access: yes, 2010
Carcinoma of male breast is uncommon as it accounts for 0.7% of total breast cancer. The pathology of male breast cancer is remarkably similar to that of cancers seen in women.

Value of Axillary Palpation and Ultrasound, and Axillary Recurrence in Male Breast Cancer: Results of the Registry Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Clinical and sonographic examination of breasts and axillae is standard in breast cancer (BC) care. The aim of this study is to highlight the value of axillary ultrasound in identifying axillary recurrences in male BC, which is still little considered in the literature.

Second Breast‐Conserving Treatment for Ipsilateral Breast Tumor Recurrence: A Review of Patient Selection, Reirradiation Techniques, and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Local recurrence after primary breast cancer treatment remains a complex clinical scenario in patients previously treated with breast‐conserving therapy and radiotherapy. For decades, salvage mastectomy was considered the standard treatment for ipsilateral breast tumor recurrence, largely because of concerns about local control after repeat ...

Impact of Single‐Cell RNA Reference Selection for the Deconvolution of Breast Cancer Spatial Transcriptomics Datasets

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Spot‐based spatial transcriptomics (ST) allows for unbiased gene expression analysis within tissue architecture, overcoming the limitations of single‐cell RNA sequencing (scRNA‐seq) by preserving spatial context. However, the high spatial resolution in ST leads to cellular heterogeneity within spots, requiring computational deconvolution to ...
