Localized Reliable Causal Multicast

2019 IEEE 18th International Symposium on Network Computing and Applications (NCA), 2019
This paper addresses the problem of offering reliable causal multicast in a setting where nodes are organized in an overlay network and use this network to disseminate information among each other. The use of overlay networks for this purpose is widely used when the number of nodes is large.

Locality, causality and continuations

ACM SIGPLAN Lisp Pointers, 1994
Concurrency and distribution are topics exacerbated by the omnipresence of Internet. Although many languages address these topics, few offer a real opportunity to control and coordinate widely spread dynamic computations. This paper presents such a language and its prominent features.

Local Causal Discovery Without Causal Sufficiency

Proceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence
Local causal discovery is crucial for revealing the causal relationships between specific variables from data. Existing local causal discovery algorithms are designed under the assumption of causal sufficiency, which states that there are no latent common causes for two or more of the observed variables in data.

Heritability, causal influence and locality

Synthese, 2019
Heritability is routinely interpreted causally. Yet, what such an interpretation amounts to is often unclear. Here, I provide a causal interpretation of this concept in terms of range of causal influence, one of several causal dimensions proposed within the interventionist account of causation.
