Exponentially Fitted Local Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Convection-Diffusion Problems

Journal of Computational Mathematics, 2012
Summary: We study the local discontinuous Galerkin method for one-dimensional singularly perturbed convection-diffusion problems by an exponentially fitted technique. We prove that the method is uniformly first-order convergent in the energy norm with respect to the small diffusion parameter.

Locally Implicit Discontinuous Galerkin Methods for Time-Domain Maxwell’s Equations

2012
An attractive feature of discontinuous Galerkin (DG) spatial discretization is the possibility of using locally refined space grids to handle geometrical details. However, when combined with an explicit integration method to numerically solve a time-dependent partial differential equation, this readily leads to unduly large step size restrictions ...

A local discontinuous Galerkin method for the Novikov equation

Mathematics of Computation
In this paper, we propose a local discontinuous Galerkin (LDG) method for the Novikov equation that contains cubic nonlinear high-order derivatives. Flux correction techniques are used to ensure the stability of the numerical scheme. The H 1 H^1 -norm stability of the general solution and the error estimate for smooth

Algebraic Multigrid for Discontinuous Galerkin Methods Using Local Transformations

2016
In this paper we present an algebraic multigrid for discontinuous Galerkin methods. Coarser grid levels are created by applying a semi-coarsening approach based on an edge-coloring of the matrix-graph. The grid-transfer uses local basis transformations between the polynomial bases of neighboring elements.
