Techno-Economic Assessment of Peer to Peer Energy Trading: An Egyptian Case Study

open access: yesIEEE Access
Peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading has emerged as an innovative approach for selling electricity from prosumer to consumer at the distribution level. This paper is the first to conduct a techno-economic assessment of P2P energy trading in Aswan, Egypt ...

Mitigating the Impacts of Community Energy Trading on Distribution Networks by Considering Contracted Power Network Charges

open access: yesIEEE Access
Driven by environmental and economic motives, different distributed energy resources (DERs) are being installed at a fast pace. The high penetration levels of DERs could result in technical issues at low voltage distribution networks (LVDNs) and lead to ...

An implementation pathway for price formation mechanisms in local electricity markets

open access: yesEnergy Reports
The European Union is leading the shift towards a sustainable future, promoting the role of consumers as prosumers through renewable energy generation, energy communities, and Local Electricity Markets (LEMs). While LEMs have been studied in simulations and pilot projects, real-world adoption remains limited.

Upscaling Sodium‐Ion Battery Cells: From Aqueous Processing to Performance Assessment of Hard Carbon|Prussian White Pouch Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the feasibility of scaling up Prussian White (PW)‐based cathode manufacturing at a pilot scale. Through careful PW dehydration combined with optimized aqueous processing, we report the stepwise development of industrially relevant 1 Ah pouch cells and evaluate their performance under various conditions.

Assessing Mesoscale Heterogeneities in Hard Carbon Electrodes Through Deep Learning‐Assisted FIB‐SEM Characterization, Manufacturing and Electrochemical Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A combination of discrete and finite element method models for the current collector deformation and electrochemical performance analysis, respectively. The models are calibrated and validated with electrochemical and imaging data of hard carbon electrodes. These electrodes were manufactured with different parameters (slurry solid contents of 35 and 40

Multiscale Perspectives on Perovskite Instability: From Atomistic Deformation to Device Degradation in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale perspectives on how excess charges in soft lead halide perovskites induce operational instability in photovoltaic devices are presented. Localized carriers formed under thermodynamic non‐equilibrium states modify atomistic interactions and drive lattice distortions, accelerating device degradation.

A Closed‐Loop Direct Recycling Process for Prussian White From Scrap and End‐of‐Life Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A closed‐loop direct recycling route for Prussian White sodium‐ion battery cathodes is demonstrated. Ice‐stripped scrap and end‐of‐life electrodes are regenerated via low‐temperature aqueous resodiation (80°C), restoring sodium content, Fe2+ redox chemistry, and structural integrity.
