ABSTRACT Objective Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) before thrombectomy for ischemic stroke may alter clot structure and procedural performance. We investigated how IVT relates to thrombectomy metrics across stroke etiologies. Methods We performed a time‐to‐event analysis of consecutive patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (acLVO ...

ABSTRACT Objective Considerable efforts have been dedicated to developing effective treatments for post‐stroke executive impairment (PSEI), among which repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown great potential. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of high‐frequency rTMS on working memory (WM) and response ...

[18F]Fluorodeprenyl‐D2 PET as a Tool to Monitor Disease Activity in GAD65‐Ab Autoimmune Encephalitis
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate [18F]fluorodeprenyl‐D2 ([18F]F‐DED) positron‐emission tomography (PET) imaging as a biomarker of disease activity in autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) associated with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibodies. Methods [18F]F‐DED PET was performed in 25 GAD65‐AIE patients and 8 controls using dynamic (0–60 min) and ...

From time to time the right of existence of local government is questioned and reasons are given why its institutions cannot be justified. However, if the arguments for and against the right of existence are carefully analysed and compared with the objectives of such institutions, it becomes clear that such arguments should not be about the pros and ...

Improving how we safely and efficiently care for patients is a paramount issue for health care organizations. Yet, most institutions struggle with how to systematically achieve a continuously learning and improving program. Lack of organization, variability in clinical care, insufficient resources and competing agendas are common contributing factors ...

In order to understand the parallel computation of optic flow, we introduce here a novel algorithm for computing the flow field at certain locations in the image. These locations are on the gradient edges, which Brady calls seeds [1] . Our Curve Motion Constraint Equation provides an additional constraint to fully and locally estimate the flow field at

Improved license plate localization
2016 International Conference on Electrical and Information Technologies (ICEIT), 2016In this article, a new approach to explore the candidate car license plate scene is presented. First, the image is decomposed by using a Haar wavelet to get the HL sub-image with vertical edges. Next, a black top-hat algorithm is applied to minimize the effects of interfering large continuous features other than the license plate.

Local breeds and genetic improvement
2006Genetic improvement is generally associated to large breeds and management of local small breeds is seen as maintenance of the current genetic profùe, however, selection programmes may increase sustainability oflocal breeds. The paper discusses some issues associated to selection in local breeds. First, in generai farm animal populations are under some

Surgical Quality Improvement: Local Quality Improvement
2016The quality movement has dramatically changed both the practice and perception of healthcare over the last 30 years. In surgery, the unique details of any particular patient’s case may have made comparative quality reporting and benchmarking more challenging, but these obstacles should not let the surgical care of patients to be omitted from quality ...
