A Two-step Strategy for High-Value-Added Utilization of Rapeseed Meal by Concurrent Improvement of Phenolic Extraction and Protein Conversion for Microbial Iturin A Production

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2021
Rapeseed meal (RSM) is a major by-product of oil extraction from rapeseed, consists mainly of proteins and phenolic compounds. The use of RSM as protein feedstock for microbial fermentation is always hampered by phenolic compounds, which have antioxidant

Improved MDS-based localization [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE INFOCOM 2004, 2005
It is often useful to know the geographic positions of nodes in a communications network, but adding GPS receivers or other sophisticated sensors to every node can be expensive. MDS-MAP is a recent localization method based on multidimensional scaling (MDS).

MbMYBC1, a M. baccata MYB transcription factor, contribute to cold and drought stress tolerance in transgenic Arabidopsis

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Cold and drought stress considerably suppress the development of plants. In this study, a new MYB (v-myb avian myeloblastosis viral)TF gene, MbMYBC1, was isolated from the M. baccata and located in nucleus.

Etretinate Improves Localized Porokeratosis of Mibelli [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dermatology, 1985
ABSTRACT: A 60‐year‐old woman with plaque‐type psoriasis of 30 years' duration was treated with etretinate. The lesion resolved while the patient was on the drug and continued to resolve after she had discontinued therapy. The continuation of resolution after the patient had discontinued the drug is probably due to its long half‐life.

The effects of controlled freezing-point storage on the postharvest quality of satsuma mandarin

open access: yesJournal of Future Foods
Present study introduced a controlled freezing-point storage (CFPS) technique for the postharvest storage of satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc. cv. Miyagawa Wase), with the environment temperature of −2°C during the whole storage period.

Improvement of cryo-EM maps by simultaneous local and non-local deep learning

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Cryo-EM has emerged as the most important technique for structure determination of macromolecular complexes. However, raw cryo-EM maps often exhibit loss of contrast at high resolution and heterogeneity over the entire map.
