Face Recognition with Statistical Local Line Binary Pattern
2011 Seventh International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Security, 2011In this paper, we present an improved method for face recognition named statistical Local Line Binary Pattern (SLLBP), which is based on Local Binary Pattern (LBP). The basic idea of the algorithm is to first obtain the local binary code along with horizontal and vertical direction separately and the gray-level difference between neighbor pixels, which

Enhanced Line Local Binary Patterns (EL-LBP): An Efficient Image Representation for Face Recognition
Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2018Local Binary Patterns (LBP) is one of the efficient approaches for image representation, especially in the face recognition field. The motivation of the present study is to find a compact descriptor which captures texture information and yet is robust against several visual challenges such as illumination variation, facial expressions and head pose ...

Visual object recognition using multi-scale local binary patterns and line segment feature
International Journal of Signal and Imaging Systems Engineering, 2012This paper presents two visual features for object recognition. One is multi-scale Local Binary Pattern (LBP) operator extracted from coarse-to-fine image blocks to well describe texture structures. The other is line segment feature based on Gestalt-inspired region segmentation and fast Hough transform to capture accurate geometric information.
